The launch of the iOS 14 release is happened to be in later September of this year. And Apple fanboys have a great curiosity about what Apple brings to them with the iOS 14 release. Will it be a groundbreaking software update that will potentially change the way use our phone? (Like the inclusion of 5G modem) Or maybe Apple will just release a less complicated performance-oriented stable software upgrade. Only the time will reveal it. But till then we have got a lot more to talk about and share it with you guys. So, Let’s get started.
iOS 13 was released by Apple on 19 September of 2019 and went through several issues with performance and some even faced battery issues. Apple took a good time to fix those bugs and brought improvements to the performance. This clearly shows that iOS 13 wasn’t polished enough to run smoothly on the iPhones. We hope this time, with the release of iOS 14, we will not just get some great features but off-course a smooth operating system too without any bugs. So, What are some of the exciting and most awaited features of iOS 14? Let’s dive in.
When iOS 14 will be released?
Looking at Apple’s tradition for the past few years we are quite sure that Apple releases its big yearly Software update in mid-September following the Launch of its new iPhone. The Public beta releases for the iOS 14 might be available from 29 June of this year onwards as per the reports. And after getting feedback from the beta users across the globe for a few months, Apple then might push its iOS 14 release in mid-September. So, let’s hope for the best and at the earliest.
Devices Supporting iOS 14 Update
iPhones get Software Updates for the years and Apple is quite popular for its software support even after it stops the manufacturing of iPhones – and that’s why we love it so much. But, Does your device fall in the list of iOS 14 Supporting phones? Check out below.
- iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone SE, iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR, iPhone XS & iPhone XS Max
- iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro & iPhone 11 Pro
- iPod Touch (7th Gen)
There are still a large number of people using older iPhone models which are still running quite fine without any issues. If the rumor turns out to be true, at least iPhone SE & iPhone 6S will get iOS 14 and that will be very good news for many of us. Also, keep in mind that there are many manufacturers in the smartphone industry that take away software support in a year or two so, hats off to Apple for such impressive software support.
Features We Would Love to See in the iOS 14
Though Apple has very good software running on their smartphones, it still just lags far behind by its biggest competitor- Android. The iOS feels like a jail to an Android user who can literally change the booting up animation on his phone. Apple wants you to use their iPhone the way they want. You can’t even change the position of an app and keep it wherever you want on the homesreen.
On the other hand, Apple focuses more on its optimization part and want to keep everything on their phone neat, simple clutter-free and accessible for everyone. iOS has been changed, from what it was a few years back. Apple keeps adding features that any user can easily adapt and get used to it. Here is the wishlist of features we expect Apple to release with the launch of iOS 14.
- Support for 5G technology
- Introduction to Split view
- Option to enable third party Apps as default
- Improvements in Augmented reality and additional features
- Always-on display on (OLED iPhones)
- Personalization (other than just changing Wallpapers)
- Banners for Call Notifications
- Redesigned icons Icons
- Separate tab for Updates in the App store
- Alarm app improvements
- Siri improvements
